Latest official announcement about the TVpad firmware (3.0 firmware plan)

The TVpad management have posted a message talking about the un-official firmware upgrade package you can find on the Internet.  They say that the un-official upgrade package may cause TVpad to stop working. They suggested to wait for the official firmware upgrade package to be released in November for all users to use.

Based on what I have read, some have succesfully upgraded their firmware using the un-official firmware package. However, I believe one person or more have trouble during/after the upgrade process.

My advice is to wait if you are not in a hurry to watch Korean channels or the possibility to watch more video on demand content (Korean apps and more video on demand apps can be played on firmware 3.0 or higher)

Expected release date upgrade package 2.72 to 3.14

The TVpad management have mentioned that the expected release date of the upgrade package from 2.72 to 3.14 is somewhere in November. The upgrade package from 3.06 to 3.14 might be released sooner.

There are un-official upgrade packages on the Internet allowing you to upgrade your firmware from 2.72 to 3.14 or from 3.06 to 3.14. Of course, upgrading your firmware with these upgrade packages is at your own risk. You can't go back to older firmware versions if something happens.

The latest news is that the upgrade package might be released next week. According to an user, also M120 and M121 users can upgrade their firmware to 3.14 (not 100% sure, so don't be too excited yet)

TVpad upgrade package to firmware 3.14

The TVpad upgrade package to firmware 3.14 will be released soon (currently being tested), so stay tuned.


About the Niji Show app, the niji show app is currently in maintenance based on what I have heard and read. However, it could also be offline for a long period of time, maybe permanent.

Update (Oct. 16): latest news is that the upgrade package might be released next week. According to an user, also M120 and M121 users can upgrade their firmware to 3.14 (not 100% sure, so don't be too excited yet)

TVpad Youtube app firmware 2.72 and 3.0 has been fixed

Earlier, I have mentioned that some TVpad apps don't work at the moment. Now, the Youtube app has been fixed. Go to the apps section for more info about the Youtube app (firmware 2.72): apps section


If you have firmware 3.0, you can upgrade the Youtube app in the "App Garden".

Hopefully, the Niji show app will also be fixed soon.

TVpad M121S Firmware 3.14

It seems that TVpad M121S devices from now on have firmware 3.14. It has fixed some bugs found in the previous firmware version 3.06. It's not known yet when M121S users can upgrade to 3.14. Also, it's still not known yet when M121 users can upgrade to firmware 3.x.

About the NIJI Show app still not working, Chinese National holiday is till October 7th, so I am expecting they are going to fix this app and the other apps next week.

Some TVpad apps are not working at the moment

It seems that Youtube app as well as Niji Show app are not working at the moment on the TVpad M121 (with firmware version 2.72). When you have the M121S (with firmware 3.0), you can update the Youtube and Youku app in the App Garden. The Niji Show app is also not working on the M121S, still no fix available yet. I will post the new apps link when these are available.
